Medi-Shower has been awarded the “Building Better Healthcare” award for “Best Product for Enhancing Infection Prevention” and the “RIAI” award for “Architects Choice Award for Best New Technology Product”
The Medi-shower has been tried and tested in several areas to back up the information provided by the manufacturers, including NHS trial sites and The Questor Centre at Queens University Belfast. Authorising Engineer for the NHS Mr Simon French has even given the product a letter of recommendation for use within the NHS and should be considered as “best practice” for NHS Estates.

The anti-bacterial properties of the medi-shower were tested at a UKAS approved laboratory.
Samples were tested to ISO 22196:2011. This method is a quantitative test designed to assess the performance of antibacterial properties on hard, non-porous surfaces.
Submitted samples are challenged against stock cultures of S.aureus,E.coli, Campylobacter, Legionella and Ps.aeruginosa purchased from ATCC.
Samples are inoculated using a known amount of the above cultures and incubated for 24 hours at 37°C according to ISO 22196:2011. TVC (Total Viable Count) of bacteria are then recorded and the percentage of reduction is calculated.
All testing is carried out independently at Industrial Microbiological Services Ltd.

EASY TO USE
Inserts should be replaced at the beginning of each new quarter as part of the standard cleaning regime. We’ve purposefully made the rotation of inserts align with the calendar year to make the process efficient and straightforward. The times for rotation correspond with a simple colour-coded quarterly control chart that should be placed in close proximity to the shower unit. The healthcare facility can use this to easily identify and monitor the system. The used inserts are then returned to Medi-Shower by freepost on a quarterly basis for recycling.
